Falcon, COLO. (KXRM)-Colorado Parks and wildlife said on Wednesday, the red tail falcon was found with an injury in its right wing.
Travis Sader, assistant director of the area in the CPW region, said on Wednesday morning that an individual saw what appeared to be a falcon in the falcon. The person was able to capture the hawks safely, put it in a cage, and took it CPW for diagnosis.
They found that the hawks were injured in its right wing, but the injury does not seem severe. Falcons were given to a specialized rehabilitation specialist who we hope will restore the falcon in the wilderness.
CPW said if you see an infected animal, call CPW, and if possible, provide pictures or video to help CPW assess the situation.
“There are two steps that will happen. We want to evaluate it, whether through the image or video that you can send to us. We will send a wildlife officer, and they can handle safely and capture this animal.” “After that, often, we will use volunteers to transfer this to a licensed specialized rehabilitation. Depending on the age of the animal, depending on the injury, it depends on the time it will be kept. Once they feel comfortable, we try to release it in the same area from which it came.”
Anyone who discovers an affected wildlife can call 719-227-5200.
