For Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane, their two daughters are their top priority. The couple, who announced their split in 2018 but dismissed their divorce in 2025, coparent their children, Billie Beatrice Dane and Georgia Geraldine Dane.
Rebecca and Eric got married in 2004 after dating for 10 months. The Grey’s Anatomy actor and the model became parents for the first time when they welcomed their eldest daughter, Billie, in March 2010. The following year, their youngest daughter, Georgia, was born. From very early on, the mom of two wanted to allow her kids to explore their creative side.
“Because I have girls, I think it’s important they have a strong voice, so I’ve encouraged them since they were babies to express themselves,” she told Seedling.com in March 2016. “I think self-expression starts for girls at a young age with their clothing. It’s incredible how both Billie and Georgia would crawl over and put on a tutu before they were 2. It may have been on their head and not their waist, but they still gravitated towards certain colors, fabrics, and that’s just elaborated and grown into certain outfits for everyday life.”
In February 2018, the pair announced in a joint statement that they were ending their marriage, however, they were still dedicated to being the best parents they could be.
“After 14 years together, we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family,” the statement read. “We will continue our friendship and work as a team to coparent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us. We kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time as we navigate the next phase of our lives.”
The Broadway star shared that the pair were not yet officially divorced in a July 2019 interview with People. Still, their biggest priority remained the same: raising their children.
“My ex Eric and I, we are friends and we are doing our best to coparent and maintain a family, even though we’re not married,” Rebecca said. “Legally we’re still married, but separated. And I think we’re doing a pretty good job of it. Life is just good. There are so many exciting things happening.”
In March 2025, Rebecca filed to dismiss the divorce case. Both she and Eric signed off on the papers, per In Touch. She shared an update on her relationship with the actor the following month.
“We are best of friends. We are really close. We are great coparents,” she told E! News. “We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it and we are as well.”
One day after Rebecca’s relationship update, Eric announced he was diagnosed with ALS.
“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” he told People in a statement. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week,” he said. “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
Billie Beatrice Dane
Rebecca and Eric’s eldest daughter, Billie, was extremely happy to become a big sister and settled into the role nicely.
“Billie is being a great big sister now,” the Loving actress told E! News in June 2012. “We’ve had a couple of rough patches but she really adores her. She’s really sweet. It’s like her live baby doll.”
In June 2014, Eric starred in The Last Ship, playing a navy captain in the action series. He revealed a hilarious glimpse into fatherhood while filming the series.
“Our eldest, Billie, thinks I’m a mechanic because I walk around the house fixing things and putting her toys together,” he told Parade in June 2014. “I told her, ‘Daddy’s going to work on a ship.’ She thinks I’m repairing it.”
The youngster is a spitting image of her mom, with similar curly locks and blue eyes. She has made several red carpet appearances with her parents as a child and a few rare outings with her mom as a preteen.
The mother-daughter pair were photographed together on their way to breakfast in Beverly Hills in April 2022. One month prior, they stepped out together to attend a workout class. Their sweet bond truly is one of a kind!
Georgia Geraldine Dane
Rebecca is always sharing adorable photos with her youngest daughter, Georgia, on Instagram. Her little one is also a talented musician. Georgia played the piano in a video posted by her mom in August 2020. The Kentucky native proudly posts about Georgia’s milestones like starting the fourth grade and starring in a school play.
Though her daughters are young, Rebecca revealed that they both have expressed interest in pursuing careers in the entertainment industry just like their parents.
“They like to sing and dance and act and play piano, but we’re pushing, ‘Get your education, and we’ll deal with that later,’” she told People in July 2019.
Eric revealed that Georgia had been watching him on Grey’s Anatomy.
“My 12-year-old , when she started watching it a couple of years ago looked at me and said, ‘Dad, where did your abs go?’” he told Variety in August 2024. “She was serious. She wasn’t making a joke.”
