The NFL world may have spent the 2025 offseason debating the talent of former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, but they weren’t ready for what actually happened in the draft. While there was plenty of debate about whether he should go in the first or second round, no one expected Sanders to fall all the way to Round 5.
He was actually the second quarterback selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft. Cleveland also picked Dillon Gabriel in the third round, and general manager Andrew Berry said the team had planned to stop there. But when Sanders was still on the board, he couldn’t pass him up.
While Mel Kiper Jr. might have gone viral for his outrage over Sanders’ slide, others are just excited to finally watch him in action.
Sexyy Red Drops Big Hint on Social Media Over Shedeur Sanders
One of those excited fans is rapper Sexyy Red, who became an overnight sensation in 2023 with her song “Pound Town.” Since then, she’s been on a fast rise in popularity.
Red has toured with Drake, recorded tracks with Nicki Minaj, and appeared on songs with NLE Choppa and DaBaby. Now she’s dropping a serious hint that she might just become a Browns fan to get to know Sanders.
On X, Red posted, “When da first Cleveland Browns game I’ll pull up!!! @ShedeurSanders.”
Sanders was linked to a few women while he was in college, including actress Storm Reid. The two reportedly split, and since then, no relationship has been confirmed.
Sanders has been rumored to be connected with model Jasmine Rae and, more recently, Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea. Rumor has it Shenseea was invited to Sanders’ lavish draft party and later spotted clubbing with him and his friends in Dallas.
There’s little doubt that if Sexyy Red wants to shoot her shot at Sanders, she won’t be the only one. Despite his slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders’ family has generational wealth, and that kind of attention isn’t going away anytime soon.
Will Sanders Start for the Browns in 2025?
Now that the draft is over, the talk has shifted from where Sanders would land to when he might start. Cleveland’s quarterback room is crowded. Along with Sanders and Gabriel, the Browns brought back Joe Flacco and traded for Kenny Pickett.
Most analysts believe Flacco will likely open the season as QB1, with Pickett backing him up. From there, though, the conversation gets more complicated.
Some believe Sanders could make a serious push for the starting job in 2025. Others think he needs time to refine his game and show Cleveland (and the league) that he can bounce back after falling in the draft.
Still, Sanders might be in a perfect spot. As a fifth-round pick, the expectations aren’t high. That gives him room to compete, learn, and prove he belongs — especially if he can outplay Gabriel in training camp and preseason.
