While discussing the reason for launching ‘Spin & Swing,’ Nadal said the initiative is personal to him because of his love for golf and described it as a brilliant way to “generate ongoing support” for his foundation.
“This initiative is personal because of my love for golf. It’s a way to generate ongoing support for the Rafa Nadal Foundation and continue helping children and teenagers in vulnerable situations. Golf is unique because you can enjoy it with people of all levels. We want it to be fun, enjoyable and something that lasts for years,” the former World No. 1 said.
The former World No. 1’s wife, Mery, chimed in, highlighting how “Spin & Swing” will support children throughout Spain. “Spin & Swing lets us reach new companies and audiences in a format aligned with our values. All funds raised go to our Education and Sport project, supporting children across our centres in Palma, Valencia, and Madrid,” Mery added.
On the tennis side of things, Nadal, who turned professional in 2001, won 22 singles Grand Slam titles throughout his career, including 14 at the French Open, four at the U.S. Open, and two each at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
The Spaniard was also ranked No. 1 in singles by the ATP, won two Olympic gold medals for Spain, and earned numerous other accolades. He retired from professional tennis in November 2024 after representing Spain in the Davis Cup Finals.
