Proposed CA law would prohibit law enforcement from covering their faces

SANA Francisco (Kron) – The legislation proposed by two California politicians will prohibit law enforcement at all levels of covering their faces during detention and while participating in implementation in protests.

Senator in the state, Scott Winner (De San Francisco), and Jesse Arkoen (de Berkeley), provides the state law 627, called the “Secret Police Law”, to the state legislative body. If it is approved, it is prohibited to enforce the law from hiding their identity with a cover -up, such as the clown.

The draft law applies to the application of the law to all levels of covering their faces during operations in California. The bill also imposes on the definition of a type of names on their uniform or by wearing a badge.

This is to address the aggressive steps of the Trump administration to bother people, which is the issue of increasing public confidence in the application of the law.

The law exempts SWAT teams as well as those who wear medical masks during forest fires or natural disasters.

“This is a very important and timely proposal to deal with the fact that we see more and more law enforcement employees, especially at the federal level, who are in our society, cover their faces completely, not defining themselves at all,” Winer said at a press conference in the San Francisco city hall on Monday.

“Sometimes, even wearing fatigue in the army where you cannot say, are they law enforcement officers or a vigilance militia,” Winner continued. “They hold people from our streets and people disappear.”

SB 627 will be offered to a review committee.
