More than a month after 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered partially dismembered in the trunk of the multi-platinum R&B artist’s Tesla, a private investigator claims to have discovered new information related to the teen’s unsolved death.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s remains, “her head and torso,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department, were discovered on September 8 after employees at Hollywood Tow reported a foul odor coming from the Tesla, which had been in the parking lot for five days after it was reported abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.
The teen has been missing from Lake Elsinore since April 2024 when she was just 13 years old.
He added: “It appears that she died inside the car for a long period of time.”Coroner’s reportmale.
Los Angeles police investigators said the car, which had Texas plates, belonged to David Anthony Burke, 20, an up-and-coming musician known as D4Vd who has millions of fans and followers.
“I think she’s been dead for a lot longer than people initially thought,” private investigator Steve Fisher said. “It could go back to as early as January or February, which is hard to fathom.”
Rented by the owner of the $4 million Hollywood Hills mansion, which the singer was renting for $20,000 a month before leaving in late September, Fisher recently searched the property to help determine if a crime had been committed at the home.
Police have not identified Burke, who reportedly cooperated with investigators, as a suspect. But they said a search warrant was executed at the home on Sept. 17.
“Numerous items of evidence have been recovered and will be analyzed by investigators in the coming days. An LAPD spokesperson previously confirmed to KTLA that this is an ongoing investigation.” “Investigators are following up on several leads.”
As the investigation into Rivas’ death continues, details have emerged that appear to link Burke to the missing girl.
The Tesla was reportedly located not far from the rental home where Burke was staying. Hernandez’s mother claims that before her disappearance, she had a boyfriend named David. It later emerged that there were several photos of them together on social media, including where the singer appeared to be with the teenager, not far from her family home in Lake Elsinore.
Burke and the 15-year-old also reportedly have matching tattoos on their right index fingers with the letters “Shhh.”
TMZ tooI mentionedThat friends in the 20-year-old’s circle believed Hernandez was 19 years old.
Fisher now says that even after the LAPD searched the house, he found items that could be connected to the crime, things that investigators had left behind.
“There were things that were concerning,” he told KTLA. “There are some physical items that I unfortunately cannot disclose, but they are important because they are something that could have been used in a plan to actually dispose of her body.”
The private investigator also said he discovered video from neighborhood surveillance cameras, and claims to know who was behind the wheel of the Tesla when it was abandoned in late July, presumably with the 14-year-old’s remains in the trunk.
“I’m sure I know who he is,” Fisher said. “I can’t say but there is surveillance from the 29thy I’m sure I know who this person is.
He added that the footage was handed over to the police.
Hernandez’s autopsy showed no obvious signs of death and that the teen was not pregnant. Investigators now say they are awaiting toxicology reports.
Nearly seven weeks after the horrific discovery, no arrests have been made, and police have not identified any potential suspects.
While the singer’s album has been postponed indefinitely and his US and European tours have been cancelled, the 20-year-old has remained completely silent about the investigation and his alleged ties to Hernandez, who, according to some observers, he likely met via social media.
“It was shocking how silent it was for someone who actually lived on the Internet,” Fisher said. “Not just him, but the people around him in his immediate orbit. They were completely silent.”
The girl’s remains were handed over on September 23 to her family, who held a funeral service in early October.
The private investigator said at least one crime was committed to hide the teen’s body and believes toxicology reports could indicate a more serious crime.
