Power restoration efforts continue after Wednesday's storms in Central Texas

Austin – After storms on Wednesday, the energy companies in central Texas continue to work to restore energy in some areas.

As of 6:45 am Thursday, Austin Energy It showed that there are 452 active interruptions, which affected more than 30,000 customers.

AE said: “Since the damage is very large, it is still expected that the activities of interruptions and restoration will extend for several days,” AE said. “There is currently no time to restore the power outages related to the storm.”

The utility said it would continue to work to restore power.

“All available crews are working on the system. Austin Energy thanks customers for their patience,” said AE.

As a reminder, AE said not to touch the power line that was never dropped.

I said: “Stay at least 35 feet at least from the lines that have been dropped and do not use any object to transfer a drop wire. Do not touch anything or anyone in contact with the power line. When the land wire directly touches the land, the electricity fans throughout the region.”

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperookive (BEC) was also dealing with two major interruptions that initially influenced more than 800 customers. The utility has regained more than 400.

Map of power outages It showed that both interruptions occurred shortly before 7 pm on Wednesday, until 6:10 am on Thursday, the crews were still working to restore power.
