Petaluma police investigating crosswalk clash between 'No Kings' protesters, truck

((CrohnInvestigators announced the evidence related to a “dangerous” confrontation between the Beck August truck and “no kings” in the hateful corridor on June 14.

“The event, which attracted hundreds of participants and remained calm for the majority of today, included the interaction between a vehicle and the pedestrian in the corridor,” said Pitaloma.

The conflict occurred near the intersection of Western Street and Petaloma Street, where the infantry entered and occupied a cross -corridor while the traffic light was green for the next traffic, according to Petaluma PD.

“At some point during the demonstration, a group of pedestrians entered and occupied the corridor while displaying the green light of vehicle traffic,” said Petaluma PD. “The intersection truck followed at the time, which led to a position that caused great concern in society.”

No one was injured during the corridor incident. However, Petaluma PD is studying the possibility of providing criminal charges related to confrontation.

“The relevant driver informed that the accident was in front of the department, cooperating with the investigation, and an interview was conducted with him.” “All available evidence, including video clips and witness accounts, are examined to determine whether any criminal violations are appropriate.”

Petaluma PD provided safety tips for drivers and pedestrians after the accident:

  • Drivers, even with green light, are legally obligated to submit to anyone legally in a cross corridor. Driving towards pedestrians, especially families that have children, is dangerous and may violate multiple sections of the California Vehicle Law.
  • The infantry, including the demonstrators, bears the responsibility of crossing legally and avoiding entering the road when vehicles have the legal right on the road, especially outside the specified transit periods.

“It is all for us,” said Petaluma PD. “Everyone, whether on foot or behind the wheel, must give priority to safety and practice a good judgment for themselves and our society. By practicing pedestrian safety, traffic and protest, you can help ensure our streets remain safe.”
