Paula Badosa recently shared how she is spending her time since she ended her 2025 season early, having last competed during the Asian swing of the tour. The former World No. 2 participated in the 2025 China Open, where she was seeded 18th. Badosa began her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. She won her opening match against Antonia Ružić 6-3, 7-6(2). The Spaniard then faced 13th seed Karolína Muchová in the third round but had to retire from the match during the first set due to a left hip injury.

Following her retirement from the China Open, Badosa took to social media to announce that the tournament in Beijing would be her final competition of the season, effectively ending her 2025 season early. She expressed that the experience was “tough,” “painful,” and that the “setback” hurts, but these challenges motivate her to come back stronger.

“There are times when I ask myself how I manage to keep going through the toughest, most painful moments. Every setback hurts, but it also reminds me how badly I want to fight, how much I want to come back stronger,” Badosa wrote.

The Spaniard also mentioned that she could not push herself without the support of those around her. She stated that she will keep “fighting” and “pushing” and make a strong comeback.

“I wouldn’t be able to do this without the people who continue to believe in me. Your support carries me when things get heavy. No matter how many obstacles come my way, I will keep fighting, I will keep pushing, and I will keep finding my way back. See you in 2026,” she added.

Since announcing the end of her season, Badosa took to social media and shared a series of pictures showcasing how she is spending her time away from tennis. These images depict her enjoying beaches, swimming pools, and more.

“I don’t need anything else,” Badosa captioned her Instagram story.

Badosa’s best result this season came at the 2025 Australian Open, where she reached the semifinals before losing to eventual runner-up Aryna Sabalenka. Meanwhile, her performances at the other Grand Slam tournaments were lackluster.

At the French Open, the former World No. 2 reached the third round before being eliminated by Daria Kasatkina. At Wimbledon, she fell to Katie Boulter in the first round and withdrew from the US Open due to a back injury.

Additionally, Badosa reached the quarterfinals in three tournaments: the 2025 Mérida Open, the Internationaux de Strasbourg, and the Berlin Tennis Open.
