Drake Maye is set to enter his sophomore season with the New England Patriots after the franchise selected him third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He will be playing in a new system after Mike Vrabel was named the head coach and Josh McDaniels was hired as the offensive coordinator.
Maye showed promise as a rookie as he threw for 2,275 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 13 games, 12 of which he started. He completed 66.6% of his pass attempts while adding 421 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 54 carries.
Despite not having many offensive weapons, the rookie quarterback was ranked 19th in PFSN’s QB+ metric. Meanwhile, New England ranked just 30th in scoring offense, 31st in total yards, 31st in passing touchdowns, and 32nd in passing yards. As Maye prepares for his second season in the NFL, he is set to get married to his long-time girlfriend this summer.
Drake Maye Set To Marry Fiancée Ann Michael Hudson This Summer
Maye has been dating Ann Michael Hudson since 2015, when the couple was just 13 years old and in middle school. The pair were engaged in January, shortly after the conclusion of his rookie season in the NFL.
Maye recently revealed that they are set to tie the knot in two weeks. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe shared the news to X on Monday, tweeting:
“Drake Maye says he’s getting married in two weeks. Quick turnaround after getting engaged in January.”

Maye and Hudson both attended William A. Hough High School in North Carolina. However, Maye transferred to Myers Park High School after his freshman season. The couple both attended the University of North Carolina, where he became one of the most decorated quarterbacks in program history.
While Maye was focused on his dreams of reaching the NFL, Hudson has been majoring in Business Administration at the Kenan Flagler Business School. She also has been double minoring in Entrepreneurship and Conflict Management, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The soon-to-be wife of the Patriots quarterback has done several internships during her time at UNC, most recently serving as a Strategy Summer Scholar for Deloitte Consulting during the summer of 2024. She also spent a year as the Vice President of Finance for the Kappa Delta Sorority.
Her brother, Tad Hudson, attended UNC in 2023 – where he served as Maye’s backup quarterback. He joined the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers via the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season.
