Since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has taken the NFL by storm. In his eight seasons, he has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowls, winning three of them. He was named Super Bowl MVP in all three.
In addition, he’s been named the league’s Most Valuable Player twice, earned NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors, is a three-time All-Pro, and has been selected to six Pro Bowls.
While he doesn’t have as many rings as Tom Brady yet, many believe Mahomes could eventually surpass him as the greatest quarterback of all time.
But on Mother’s Day, it was a different Mahomes who got G.O.A.T. recognition.
Brittany Mahomes Receives Heartfelt Tribute From Her Mother-In-Law
Mahomes’ success on the field has brought nationwide fame not just to him but to his entire family. That includes his father, mother, brother, wife, and children.
Brittany Mahomes met Patrick when they were in high school in Whitehouse, Texas, and they’ve been together ever since. Mahomes proposed to her at Arrowhead Stadium after receiving his Super Bowl LIV ring.
The couple married in 2022 and now have three children — two daughters and a son. Patrick’s mother, Randi Mahomes, shared a heartfelt tribute to her daughter-in-law in an Instagram story for Mother’s Day.
“Happy Mother’s Day to Brittany Lynne,” Randi wrote on a photo featuring her, Brittany, and the three kids. “The most loving, hands-on, and amazing Mama. These sweet babies are so blessed to have you!!”
Brittany responded by resharing the post with a simple message: “Thank you” with a white heart emoji.
Patrick and Brittany are active on social media, and both posted Mother’s Day messages on their Instagram accounts.
A Look at Patrick Mahomes’ Career in Kansas City
The Chiefs made it to Super Bowl LIX this past February but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22. Mahomes has often been able to carry the team to a win, but not this time, and Kansas City fans were frustrated by the blowout.
Mahomes wrapped up the 2024 season with 26 touchdowns and 3,928 passing yards, completing 67.5% of his passes.
He spent most of his rookie year behind Alex Smith, but that didn’t last long. Mahomes took over in his second season and led the team to a Super Bowl win.
He’s also been a model of durability. Mahomes has dealt with few injuries, and when they’ve come — like turf toe or ankle sprains — he’s often played through them.
Through eight seasons, Mahomes has completed 2,778 passes for 32,352 yards and 245 touchdowns, with 74 interceptions. His career record is 89-23, and his passer rating sits at 102.1.
No one is likely more frustrated by the latest Super Bowl loss than Mahomes. You can bet he and head coach Andy Reid are already back in the lab, trying to find a way to return to the big game and finish the job in 2025.
