Paige DeSorbo Says She Has No Regrets About Leaving Craig Conover and Accuses Him of Playing Victim Post-Breakup!
Paige DeSorbo is standing firm in her decision to end her relationship with Southern Charm star Craig Conover — and she has no regrets.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, the Summer House star, 32, opened up about their late 2024 breakup after three years together, sharing that while she expected some reaction from fans, she didn’t anticipate the wave of criticism — particularly from older women. “It’s like, ‘How dare she break up with a man who’s over six foot and wants to marry her? Is she crazy?’” Paige said, referencing the online backlash she’s received.
“People are really taken back by it. It’s wild.”
Paige first confirmed the split in December during an episode of her Giggly Squad podcast, and she’s now shifting focus to her career — including the release of her upcoming book How to Giggle, co-authored with best friend and podcast co-host Hannah Berner. “I wouldn’t have done anything differently,” she said. “I would have taken the Facebook-over-65 mom hate 10 times over if it meant the same outcome and that I chose myself and what I wanted.”
Paige believes the judgment she’s faced highlights a lingering gender double standard. “If any 32-year-old man said, ‘You know what? Actually, I’m going to focus on my career for a couple more years,’ the response would be, ‘He’s got a good head on his shoulders,’” she explained.
“But when it’s a woman, they’re like, ‘That’s scary.’”
According to Paige, most of the disapproval has come from women of an older generation. “And I totally get that because they lived in a different time,” she said. “They paved the way for us to be like, ‘Not only do we have thoughts and opinions, but we’re going to enforce them.’”
While Craig has since revealed he purchased an engagement ring and was prepared to relocate to New York City for her, Paige says her choice to prioritize her independence over settling down has given her peace — and perspective.
“A lot of the times when people don’t agree with me, that brings me back to center,” she shared. “One day my daughter is going to want to do X, Y and Z, and I want her to be able to not have a second thought about it because it’s like, ‘Oh, well my mom went and did all of that and so I could.’”
Looking back, Paige said her outlook has evolved dramatically since first appearing on Summer House. “I was 25 and I said, ‘I’d like to be married and have a baby by 30.’ That’s how I felt at that time,” she recalled. “I had no idea I would fall in love with my career as much as I did.”
During her Watch What Happens Live appearance, Paige wasted no time debunking Craig Conover’s Southern Charm reunion claims, saying she disagreed with “all of it.”
When asked if she ever considered marrying him at BravoCon, she fired back, “Do I look like the kind of person that has the phrase ‘convention center’ in her wedding invitation?” Paige also accused Craig of trying to play the victim post-breakup and fully backed Kyle Cooke calling him a “liar,” saying, “He nailed it.”
