Soon after the removal of a tumor of 40 lbs, a woman from Oxenard soon moved from the process of saving life to another historic moment in her life.
Ariana Polido was on her way to Las Vegas in April when she felt a deep spasm in the stomach, according to Cedar Sene Hospital, which helped treat Ariana. After brushing it at first for two days, the strongest on its way returned to Oxnard. per Cedars-SinaiThe pain she was suffering from “unbearable”.
“CT scan at Bulido Community Hospital was revealed a large tumor on the right ovary of Bolido almost the size of the small basketball,” said Cedar Sinnini officials. “The surgeons removed the cancerous mass, only to discover a smaller tumor on the left ovary, which was removed after three months.”
After the procedures, Ariana returned to work – but life as she knew that she lasted for a month before the acute pain returned, this time in her left shoulder.
Hospital officials explained that the other tomography examination showed that it had a third tumor, and was later diagnosed with the increasing seminar syndrome, which is a rare condition when the tumor tissue continues to grow quickly and cannot be controlled, causing them pressure on vital organs.
The third and largest tumor was found on Bolido, then only 22 years old, about 14 centimeters and is located near her liver. Attempts to reduce the tumor did not succeed through chemotherapy, and continued to grow quickly.
“The tumor advanced so much in size that it was pressing against its right lungs, and turned her heart to the left left side, under her armpit,” by May 2024, the tumor reached 27 cm, weighing more than 40 pounds and left on her wheelchair and depends on oxygen. “
At this stage, the only remaining option was the surgery to remove the tumor; However, after multiple delays and six failed attempts to put Ariana under anesthesia, the original care team decided to cancel the procedure together.
“They said that the best next step for me will be the care of the residence,” Ariana said in a media statement.
She and her family continued to search for other opinions and eventually chose Dr. Christina Veron, President of Cedars-Sinai Jim and Elianor Randal for surgery.
Dr. Veron collected a team of 13 surgeons – from heart surgeons to liver transplant teams – to perform the complex operation that, if anything had occurred, then Ariana will die.
“The tumor was large and heavy, and it included such basic blood vessels that if they wound them, it would be very difficult to fix it,” said Dr. Veron. “Such an injury can quickly lead to death on the operating table.”
However, Ariana was confident of her decision to undergo this procedure.
She said: “The only person who can decide whether to go or stay at the surgery table will be God,” she said. “I had really great hopes and faith that I would do it.”
And made it through I did. In fact, during the first half of the surgery, doctors used local anesthesia only until the breathing of Ariana and the heartbeat remained stable – which means that they were still awake. In addition, due to the size and location of the tumor, Ariana could not lie on the operating table, so it was placed on the slope of the first half of the surgery.
In the end, the whole procedure took 14 hours. Within a week of tumor removal, my Ariana lungs can fully expand, and her heart returned in the right place and was able to breathe on its own for the first time in six months.
During the horrific health fear, Ariana’s friend, Jeffrey Chavez, remained next to her. He surprised her during the Super Bowl presentation last year with a proposal.
It is clear that she said yes.
Quickly forward to June 21 this year and officially link the knot. For the future, Ariana will continue to closely monitor her health, but everyone of her doctors know that she has succeeded in a very difficult process and now lives her best life.

“When she returned to the clinic a month [after surgery]I and the entire employees were surprised [because] Just six weeks ago, it was supported by a wheelchair. Dr. Veron said: “He has walked now through the doors. She is an incredibly strong woman and has a wonderful supportive family,” said Dr. Veron.
Ariana said: “I feel really good. I feel I am a new person and I see the world different,” Ariana said. “Every day is a positive day.”
