Owner asks for help in tracking down vehicle stolen in Hayward

(Crohn’s) – A car owner is seeking the community’s help in recovering his car that was stolen in Hayward early Monday morning. Their vehicle is a red 2019 Honda Civic Type R with the license plate 9FKN270.

According to the Hayward Police Department, the vehicle was stolen at approximately 4:50 a.m. while it was parked in the street at 27843 Ormond Street. Police said a white sedan with an unknown license plate is a possible suspect vehicle.

Surveillance video (above) appears to show at least two people getting out of a white sedan, which was parked next to a Honda Civic. At approximately 2:02, the Civic’s engine starts and appears to drive away from the scene in the white sedan.

The car’s owner said the car had been in an auto body shop for two months. It was stolen in less than three days and repairs were made. The car’s owner now describes this as a “stressful and nerve-wracking time.”
