Reem, Israel – Thousands of people in southern Israel on Tuesday to mourning the dead, where the nation was distinguished for two years since the Hamas attack fell on October 7 in a devastating war, while Israel and Hamas hosted indirect peace talks in Egypt.
The main memorial is organized by the bereaved families, separate from a ceremony that the government will keep them on the anniversary next week, according to the Hebrew calendar. The division reflects the deep divisions of the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which blames many for the failure to secure a ceasefire that would liberate the remaining hostages who keep it by militants.
In the Gaza Strip, where the retaliation of Israel killed tens of thousands of people and destroyed the entire cities and cities, those who can flee the Israeli invasion of Gaza City while others ignite their place. Many are unable to take an arduous and expensive trip south.
The worst attack in the history of Israel
Two years have passed since thousands of militants led by Hamas in southern Israel after a sudden barrage of missiles. They stormed the rules of the army, agricultural societies and the outdoor music festival, killing about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, including women, children and the elderly.
They have kidnapped 251 others, and most of them have been released since then in the ceasefire or other deals. There are still forty -eight hostages inside Gaza, and about 20 of them are believed by Israel to be alive. Hamas said that she would only shoot it in exchange for a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal. Netanyahu pledged to continue the war until all the prisoners were returned and the aromatic of Hamas was removed.
The attack began with a movement of events that led Israel to fight with Iran and its allies throughout the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, which has been lost. The United States joined Israel to attack the military and nuclear program in Iran in a 12 -day war in June.
Israel has killed many major militants, as well as Iranian soldiers and nuclear scientists, and has largely exhausted the military capabilities of its enemies while controlling most of Gaza, as well as parts of Lebanon and Syria.
But failure to return hostages has left the country divided deeply, with weekly mass protests against Netanyahu. Israel is more isolated internationally than it was decades ago.
Monument in a massacre place
Nearly 400 Israelis were killed and dozens of Nova Music Festival were kidnapped in the border community in Reem. Over the past two years, it has appeared as a memorial site, with pictures of the kidnappers and the falling of Israeli flags.
There is no official ceremony at the Nova website, due to the Jewish holiday for SUKKOT, which coincides with the anniversary. However, dozens of people on the site shared the memories of the relatives and friends who were killed, and woven through hundreds of pictures that surround the place where DJ Booth stands. At 6:29 am, the specified time at which the attack started, the music stopped – the same path they were celebrating at that time – a moment of silence.
People embraced and talked about their loss. Alon Moskinov, 28, who was at the festival and lost three of his close friends, said that the survivors live with the horrors of that day.
“We are repeating this every day, every day we remember it,” he said.
Judea Al -Rahmi, whose daughter Sharon – a police officer at the festival – was among the dead, that he visited the Nova site daily, to be in the last place where she was alive.
To this day, Al -Rahbani still hopes to coincide with one of the survivors who can tell him about the moments of his last daughter. He is angry at the government for not launching an investigation into security failure on that day.
“When you don’t know what happened, that makes it more difficult,” he said.
Meanwhile, explosions from Gaza and smoke repeated the tape. The army said a missile had been launched from northern Gaza in the morning, but no damage or injuries were reported.
In Tel Aviv, the main memorial ceremony, organized by Yunatan Charters, who was his brother Alon, began by mistakes by mistake at the hands of the Israeli forces after they escaped from the families early in the war.
Dikman tea, who lost her aunt outside her home in Kibbutz Perry on the day of the attack while her cousin, Carmel Gat, was disposed of by Hamas and killed 11 months later, that everyone wants him to end the war.
“There is a deal on the table, there is an opportunity to end this war and return everyone home,” she said. “We all deserve it, we deserve it, and our neighbors deserve it, we want this war to end and all of them return to their homes.”
Israel and the enthusiasm of the peace plan Trump discusses
In neighboring Egypt, in the Sharm El -Sheikh Resort, Israel and Hamas held indirect talks on Monday to discuss the peace plan for US President Donald Trump. The conversations continued on Tuesday.
The war has already killed more than 67,000 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which is part of the Hamas government, which does not say the number of civilians or fighters. She says women and children are about half of the dead, and many independent experts say their numbers are the most reliable estimates of wartime time losses.
The Israeli attack on the displacement of about 90 % of the Gaza population of about 2 million, and often the restrictions imposed on humanitarian aid are often in a severe hunger crisis, as experts saying that Gaza City is suffering from starvation.
Experts and major rights groups accused Israel of genocide, and the International Criminal Court seeks to arrest Netanyahu and the former defense minister to use hunger as a means of war.
Israel strongly denies these allegations, saying it is launching a legal war of self -defense and taking unusual measures to avoid harm to civilians. He blames Hamas for death and destruction in Gaza because the militants are deeply included in the populated areas.
Hamas filmed the attack on October 7, in response to contracts of Israeli territory, and the construction of a settlement and military occupation. But the attack imposed a catastrophic losses on the Palestinians, who seems to be more far away from an independent state than ever.
