NFL Legend Deion Sanders Gives Behind-the-Scenes Look at Emotional Decision Amid Health Battle

Former Super Bowl champion and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has been battling serious health concerns over the past few months, and one can grasp the severity of the issue by the fact that he even wrote a will for his children.

A clip posted by his son, Deion Sanders Jr., 31, on his latest video from “Well Off Media” showed a distraught Sanders discussing his health, questioning whether he was mentally and emotionally ready to return to coaching.

What Did Deion Sanders Reveal About His Difficult Moment Amid Health Scare?

It’s not the first time Sanders has faced health issues. He has dealt with serious blood clot issues for years, including surgeries in 2021 that resulted in the amputation of his left big toe and second toe. His family history makes him particularly susceptible to these dangerous clots, creating ongoing medical concerns that affect his daily life.

However, the latest episode might have been the hardest for the Hall of Famer, and he has been forced to miss crucial team activities during what should be one of the most important periods for college football programs.

“I don’t know if I’m mentally ready, emotionally,” he said from what looks like a doctor’s office on May 9. “Last night was tough. Yesterday was tough because I had to make a will. It’s not easy at all to think that you might not be here, but you want to make sure everybody’s straight.”

In late May, Sanders revealed he had “lost about 14 pounds” and described his condition as being “at a whole ‘nother level.’” Even as recently as July, he admitted “I’m still going through something” and “I ain’t all the way recovered.”

Sanders is set to give a press conference on Monday morning to shed more light on his health issues. It appears that he has won the battle and is likely to continue coaching Colorado despite the rumors suggesting otherwise.

Sanders Jr. suggested the same in the video he posted from “Well Off Media”, and also revealed he struggled to document his father’s will.

“When he told me to document, I’m like, ‘Bro, I just want to be there as your son’, and I don’t want to document… Now as time went on, and as the battle was fought, and the battle was won, I see why.”

Sanders Jr. further added that it was a “hard-fought battle” that had started before the NFL Draft. However, he confirmed that Sanders had won it, and the rest of the details will be made public at 11 a.m. Colorado time on Monday.
