Apple Cinemas takes more than seven floors of the historical building in 1000 Van Ness Avenue, and it is not the only one that moves. Grand Athletic Club will open a four -storey gym by the end of the summer.

“There are a lot of opportunities for us to take this further,” says Jessica Rubaitil, Apple Cinemas Operations Manager. “Yes, we open as a cinematic theater, but this will not just end for us. We have great visions for the future as well and I think it will really come out people.”

Eddie Martin, General Manager of Tommy’s Joynt, optimistic about changes. Tommy’s is one of the few foodstuffs that are still open to Van Ness, after the six years of construction to create muni bus lines of Covid-19 having forced many companies along the corridor to close.

“We would like to see more small companies here. Small companies will lead more traffic to the neighborhood and I think and bring more people to move to the neighborhood. It will also be great,” says Martin.
