New bill will allow smallest road-legal vehicles in Japan, kei cars, on Colorado roads

Denver (KDVR) – A draft law was passed through the Senate on Thursday, which will allow a small car, known as the Ki car, on some of the Colorado roads.

Home Law draft 25-1281“Kei registration and leadership records”, passed through the Senate on Thursday and heads to the office of the governor of the state Jared Police to be signed in the law. This law will allow the smallest legal vehicle in Japan with four wheels on Colorado roads.

The Kei is a vehicle model that Colorado Bell is known as a 140 -inch, length, 67 -inch, or less width. The top speed is 55 miles per hour, which is a paid taxi, and is supported by an internal combustion engine.

Under the law, these cars can be imported to the United States as used vehicles and can be recorded and pushed on some roads. These roads include areas where the maximum speed is less than 55 miles per hour, not the limited highways.

This bill will allow the 25 -year -old Kei cars when it is imported to the country, or more than 25 years old when a title was previously issued in the United States

Once signed by Polis, this proposed law will be valid on July 1, 2027.
