Nevada resident sentenced after taking Colorado teen to Nevada for sex

DENVER (KDVR) — A Nevada man was sentenced last week to prison after a decade after taking a 15-year-old girl from Colorado to Nevada earlier this year.

Tyler Munson, of Winnemucca, Nevada, was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for Transporting a 15-year-old girl from Littleton to Nevada and had sexual contact with her after they met on a social media app.

Munson had pleaded guilty to one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Court documents show that Munson communicated via Snapchat with Littleton as a teen from approximately December 31, 2024, to January 2, 2025. During the conversation, Munson told the teen that he was 16 and also lived in Colorado.

The victim exchanged nude photos with Munson, and Munson sent the victim $2,000 via Venmo, according to court records. The teen and Munson then agreed to meet, and Munson traveled to Colorado for the purpose of sexual activity with the teen, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said Munson sexually assaulted the victim several times while returning to Nevada.
