NeNe Leakes Praises Mia Thornton and Says She Would Fit Right In on RHOA!
NeNe Leakes has some thoughts about Mia Thornton possibly trading in her champagne flute for a Georgia peach — and she’s not holding back.
In a recent appearance on The NeNe Leakes Show, the Real Housewives of Atlanta OG sat down with BOSSIP’s Dani Canada for the show’s “Tea Time” segment.
When asked about Real Housewives of Potomac star Mia Thornton expressing interest in joining the RHOA cast, NeNe didn’t mince words. “Just come on down here [and] be messy,” she said with a laugh. “She should fit right on in.”
While Mia praised the Atlanta cast for their “real friendships,” that particular comment raised an eyebrow from NeNe. “I don’t know about the real friendships—we can rethink that one,” she quipped.
Although NeNe admitted she no longer keeps up with the show regularly, she noted she’s seen Mia on social media and believes she’d be a good match with the current group. “I think she and I may have DMed each other once or twice… I’m sure she’ll make great Housewives with the rest of these girls,” she added.
She also shed light on how casting works behind the scenes at RHOA. “Sometimes we get to know who they’re casting usually when that person has gotten kind of far in the casting process,” she explained. “If it’s somebody they’re just pursuing, they probably didn’t tell us.”
And when it comes to the endless stream of women claiming they were almost cast? NeNe’s heard it all before.
“These girls usually talk so much. They’ll come out and be like, ‘Yeah, they wanted me.’ It’s like girl—they didn’t really want you. They was just trying to talk to you.”
Whether or not Mia Thornton ends up joining the Atlanta crew remains to be seen, but according to NeNe, if she shows up ready to stir the pot, she’ll fit right in.
