The Cleveland Browns entered the 2025 offseason looking for answers after a brutal 3-14 campaign, and their top draft pick was supposed to help set the tone. Instead, Mason Graham’s early days in brown and orange have already sparked concern and opinions online.
The rookie defensive tackle out of Michigan was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but his minicamp debut wasn’t quite what fans expected. A photo posted by Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot showed Graham throwing up and walking off the field during drills, and the internet didn’t miss it.
Is Graham Out of Shape or Just Pushing His Limits?
The reaction was swift. Some fans didn’t hold back, questioning Graham’s conditioning and even his commitment.
Needs to get in shape

“Needs to get in shape,” one fan posted bluntly.
Coming to camp outta shape smh. His body tells me he don’t workout crazy

“Coming to camp outta shape smh. His body tells me he don’t workout crazy,” another chimed in.
“Wow. Some dudes don’t come prepared, but this just looks next level bad lol,” another added.
Others went as far as to call the pick a bust already.
“This should be a clear foreshadowing of how his career with the Browns will go. #BUST #DawgPound,” read one harsh comment.
But not everyone was ready to sound the alarm. A few fans were quick to defend Graham, pointing out that pushing yourself to the limit during early drills isn’t exactly a red flag.
“To be fair, physiologically, anyone can vomit if pushing yourself hard enough and your gut clamps down from too much blood flow to the big muscles. Doesn’t mean anything,” one user wrote.
“Hell yeah. Dude is pushing himself. Respect,” said another.
Graham, who started every game in his last two seasons at Michigan, is expected to be a Day 1 starter for the Browns. But this wasn’t the rookie splash fans hoped for.
Graham Joins a Roster Full of Questions and Potential
The Browns’ defense needed help, and Graham has the tools to deliver. In college, he was a nightmare to block; quick off the snap, technically sound, and relentless in the trenches. That’s what Cleveland is banking on.
Still, the team’s biggest problems came on offense. They finished dead last in scoring last year, and heading into 2025, they didn’t just double down on defense. After trading down, the Browns loaded up, not just with Graham, but with two quarterbacks: Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, who somehow slid to them in the fifth round.
That QB room now features rookies, veterans, and a whole lot of uncertainty. Whether it’s Sanders, Gabriel, or even Joe Flacco starting in Week 1, the Browns need stability under center. Meanwhile, Graham’s role is a little clearer: anchor the line and help flip the script on a franchise stuck in reverse.
But if the photo from minicamp is anything to go by, his NFL welcome isn’t going to be the smoothest.
