(KRON) – Several coyotes have been spotted recently in Cupertino and Los Gatos, Santa Clara County officials said.
There were no reports of injuries.
“If you see one, do not approach or feed it,” county officials said in a social media post Saturday at 7:51 p.m.
Officials are reminding residents of helpful tips if they encounter a coyote:
- Carry a walking stick to scare away wildlife if you come into contact with one.
- – Making loud noises to scare them. For example, an air horn, a whistle, a can with marbles in it, and screaming hard.
- Do not bend over to pick up pets or objects from the floor.
- Place bags or backpacks on top of your head to make it appear larger.
- Do not turn your back or run away from the wolf, but rather back away slowly as you confront the wolf.
