(Crohn)-The trial that lasted for a week against former public reform officer Daril Smith, accused of sexual assault on five women at the Federal Reform Institute, which they did not see now in Dublin in the eastern Gulf, was completed in a trial on Monday after the jury failed to reach a ruling.
Smith, known by the prisoners as “Dick Dirt”, faced 15 charges of sexual assault on the crimes that he claimed to have occurred in all Women prison. Smith is part of a comprehensive sexual assault scandal that includes multiple guards, which led to the permanent closure of the prison in 2024.
The Social Justice Organization has issued a California coalition for prisoners for prisoners after the trial.
“The survivors participated in a very disturbing certificate throughout the days, including how Smith raped and penetrated a number of them, she masturbated while watching women who bathed, hit them, and used forced tactics such as blocking their mail or not allowing them to leave their cells if they did not precede them or agree to the sexual confrontation with him.”
A date for the re -trial of the case was initially set on September 15, 2025. One of Smith defendants, the former reformist institute in Dublin, Amy Chavera, said that she and her former former colleagues will continue their battle for justice.
“This wrong is devastating, especially given the difficulty and shock of the survivors to testify,” Chavera said in a statement. “For families of those who are still imprisoned: your loved ones will need your support after receiving this news. Regardless of what is happening, we must remember that the“ rape club ”in Dublin has become possible through a wide culture of collusion and cover -up, and that the prison office continues to misuse and neglect them in federal sugar throughout the country.
