Matt Rife Becomes “Legal Guardian” of Annabelle Doll – Jimmy Star’s World

Comedian Matt Rife says he has become “legal guardian” of the Annabelle doll made by The Conjuring movie franchise.

Rife, along with friend and YouTuber Elton Castee, apparently obtained guardianship of the collection from paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren — including the Annabelle doll — for at least five years, after purchasing the Warrens’ home and their Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut.

“Ed and Lorain Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time, The Conjuring House, Amityville Horror, etc.,” Rife wrote in a post to Instagram. “We plan to open the house for overnight stays and museum tours so you yourself can experience and learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place.”

Annabelle’s origins date back to the 1970s, when the doll was given to a nursing student and soon began exhibiting strange behavior, leading the Warrens to conclude it was inhabited by a demonic spirit. It was eventually locked in a glass case at their Occult Museum. The doll later inspired the 2013 horror film The Conjuring and several subsequent spin-offs.

Rife’s acquisition of Warren collection comes just weeks after paranormal investigator Dan Rivera died suddenly while on a national tour with the original Annabelle doll.
