A mandatory evacuation was released after an explosion in a factory in Louisiana on Friday.
Local officials said that the accident occurred in Smitty’s Supply, a lubricant oil manufacturer in Rosland in the diocese of Tangipahoa. A large column of smoke can be seen after the explosion.

The explosion was reported shortly before one in the afternoon, according to the head of the Tangipahoa Robby Miller diocese.
The Tangipahoa government soon ordered a mandatory evacuation of those in the nearby area, which then expanded to a semalene -diameter circle of one mile of the factory.
“The move immediately and moved away from this area until further notice,” said Tangipahoa’s Sheriff’s Office on X.

An elementary school was located inside the evacuation area that was evacuating students to a site in Amite.
Miller told a news conference late Friday afternoon that no injuries were reported, “which is a gift from God.”
Miller said the fire was still active, and the Environmental Quality Ministry Louisiana was monitoring the environment. He said it was unclear cause of the explosion.

“Please follow the guidelines of your local officials,” Louisiana Governor Jeff Landre said in a statement about X.
