Man pointing firearm at passersby in L.A. neighborhood draws SWAT team: LAPD

A barrier that includes a man carrying a firearm on an apartment on the second floor in the Vermont Slawson neighborhood in Los Angeles ended on Wednesday night.

The officers responded to a report on a man referring to a gun in passers -by in the 6400 mass of Vigua Street around 8:45 pm

The man refused to comply with the orders to get out of the apartment. Instead, he fought himself on the second floor, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Administration Posted on X.

The SWAT team responded to the scene and at one time an automatic dog was sent to the building.

A spokesman for “SWAT officers responded and formed a plan to solve the situation and then asked the suspect to leave the apartment at a time when the suspect was seen a firearm in a window from the second floor, and an officer involved the shooting occurred.”

The video showed the unknown man, which was shocked by the shooting, and left the apartment with his left hand wrapped in a towel or another type of material.

The police said he was detained and transferred to a nearby hospital.

None of the officers or other community members was injured in the accident.
