(BCN)-San Matteo Provincial Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday:
Prosecutors said that Raphael Martinez, 79, was accused of shooting Anna Martinez, who was found dead in a car parked in the garage of the house in which the two participated in the Kruker Street in Dali.
Investigators decided that they were shot four times, all on the left side of the head and neck, and the injuries were consistent with sitting in the passenger seat while he was shot from the driver’s seat, according to the provincial prosecutor’s office.
Rafael Martinez has never been to work again after the shooting and called a friend to confess to shooting at the victim in the garage. Then he traveled to southern California before he finally escaped to Mexico and at the end to El Salvador, the prosecutors said.
He was found and arrested there with the help of Interpol and the US Secretary of State and was returned to San Matteo County to make the initial accusation last September. He finished the initial hearing, which included a certificate of witnesses who included the son of the victim, on Wednesday with a judge commanded him to trial for murder.
Rafael Martinez’s defense lawyer was not immediately available to comment on the case, which would return to the court on May 29 to charge the charge.
