(Krona) – Napa Police Department gave a man to save a person from drowning in the Napa River after 11 pm on May 2.
That night, the Naba Police Department received 911 calls about a person in the river near the 800 Drive bloc. One of these callers was the Esmeralda Gonzales, who mentioned that her husband, Angel Espinoza, jumped to the river to save them.
“Given the previous similar calls this year, there was great concern for the safety of both individuals in the river,” said the Naba Police Administration.
Espinoza succeeded in pulling the person to safety and bringing them to the paramedics for medical care. NAPA PD called the rescue “brave procedure”.
“The medical staff later confirmed that the person would likely not survive if Angel did not interfere when he did so,” PD said.
NAPA PD Espinoza presented with the “Citizen Award” for his efforts.
“The Espinoza gospel showed a great courage and put himself in danger to save a strange person,” PD said. “His actions reflect the ideals of our community service medal, as it provided a member of an emergency or in any unusual contribution to management.”
