HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead inside a car in northwest Harris County.

Aerial images from SkyEye showed what appeared to be law enforcement vehicles surrounding a car at the scene.

SkyEye was overhead as law enforcement investigated a shooting in northwest Harris County on New Year’s Eve.

Deputies said they responded to the 16000 block of Western Road on New Year’s Eve and found an unresponsive man inside the vehicle.

The man, possibly in his 20s, died at the scene, officials said.

Sgt. Sidney Miller said preliminary findings indicate the victim was approached by an unknown man wearing a hoodie before an altercation.

Miller said the victim may have been shot multiple times before the man in the hoodie left the car.

The Sheriff’s Office said a second man may have been involved, as there were reports of someone taking something from the victim’s car immediately after the shooting.

Miller said investigators believe the suspects fled the scene on foot.
