(Kron) – A man died after he was shot by three police officers on Wednesday evening in southern San Francisco, according to the authorities. The San Francisco Police Department said it indicated what was believed to be a firearm for the officers before shooting.
The officers responded at 7 pm at 300 blocks from the Oyster Point Street near San Francisco Bay on multiple reports of a man in his forties who are trying to storm a public toilet with a metal object and screaming of bahifa. Police said that the arriving officers found the suspect, whose identity was not identified from Thursday, is still trying to storm the bathroom.
After SSFPD officers contacted the man, he fled with “what appeared to be a firearm in his hand,” according to the administration. The officers chased after him along a path, where many members of the public were said to walk. Other law enforcement agencies have arrived at the scene to help SSFPD.
The police used a less lethal force in an attempt to control the man, but the authorities said they were “ineffective.” Then it was claimed that the man referred to the suspected fire weapon to the officers before they were called two SSFPD officers and San Bruno police officer.
The deceased man was pronounced at the scene.
The police said that it was later decided that the suspected firearm was a true copy.
The California Ministry of Justice is investigating the shooting of the deadly police. The concerned officers were placed on a paid administrative leave for each protocol, according to SSFPD.
