KDVR-A 35-year-old man died after kayak boats turned and became aware of the Arkansas River near Boya Vista on Friday afternoon.
Colorado Parks and wildlife said that an invitation to send Shafi district at about 3:15 pm after two of the private sects in the bombable boats touched their craftsmen.
According to what Kayakker was able to swim to the beach, while the other was conscious after the kayak boats passed. CPW said that one of the passers -by in other boats followed the unconscious man and pulled him to the beach over the village of Johnson, where they started CPR and called 911.
Rangers arrived from the Arkansas entertainment area, EMS County, Chaffee County Fire, and the Shafi Sharif County Office and CPW to the scene, but despite the life -saving efforts, CPW said that the recovery did not succeed, and the man was recognized by Coroner Chaffee.
“Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim,” said Tom Waters, Director of the Entertainment District. “This seems to be a tragic accident.”
Watermers said that both kayak boats have the appropriate safety equipment for this section of white water, including dry suits, personal float devices and helmets.
The water was 52 degrees, and the river was running at 1780 cubic feet per second. Witters said that people should check the conditions by contacting the entertainment area office before entering the river, or thinking about using a commercial rowing company if it is unfamiliar to the region or conditions.
