Officials announced that a 38 -year -old man from Alabama in possession of high -capacity magazines, high -capacity magazines, body shields, copper joints and knives late last month to threaten them in a Catholic monastery in Orange County.
in press releaseInvestigators at the Orange County Ministry of Province said that Joshua Michael Richardson sent threatening email messages to the Monastery of Saint Michael in Silvrafo Canyon before eventually appearing in the monastery on August 26 and submitting additional threats personally.
A priest in Saint Michael reported the accident in the Sharif section two days later.
It is believed that the 38 -year -old led California from his home in Alabama and arrived in southern California on the same day that appeared in the monastery, OCSD SGT. Gerard McCan said OC record.
Richardson was quickly found by investigators in his car inside the parking structure in Santa Monica in the 1500th Ocean mass.
“After searching for his car, they found a body shield, high -capacity magazines, copper joints and knives,” the statement indicated. “He was arrested without any other accident and was seized in Orange County Prison.”
On the first of September, the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Orange County accused him of possessing a fatal weapon-copper joints-carrying a dagger, possessing a large magazine and criminal threats.
Although the authorities have not yet issued the content of the threats made against the Monastery of Saint Michael, they do not believe that the accident was linked to the shooting of the Munypolis Catholic School that left two dead children, and 17 others were injured.
In a statement issued by the Roman Catholic Orange diocese submitted to KTLA, Jarryd Gonzale, head of communications to the diocese, said that the church was grateful for law enforcement that partially protects the parish community:
“In today’s environment of increasing threats against churches, especially the recent events in Minnesota, our Diocese and our schools continue to enhance security efforts and remain vigilant to help protect the parish members, students and employees.”
The Sherif Administration has increased patrols around the monastery, while the monastery, which is located about 320 acres of a previous farm, has increased its own security.
“While such incidents can be anxious, they also highlight the power of society,” said Sharif officials. “If something is something, say something. Trust in your instincts and report suspicious activity, whether it is a strange message, extraordinary behavior or something that does not sit properly. Your call can stop the crime before it occurs.”
