(Newsnation) – Lyft has canceled a test feature that would let some drivers see how many times passengers flip over before accepting a ride.
“While this trial showed early signs of improving the market and helping riders get where they need to go on time, we listened to our customers and canceled the trial,” a Lyft spokesperson told Nexstar’s NewsNation in an email Thursday.
The decision comes after screenshots of this feature It sparked criticism On social media, some pledged to stop using the popular ride-sharing service.

Rideshare drivers typically decide to accept a ride based on limited information such as fare amount, distance, and rider rating.

The short-term test came amid increasing fatigue, with more people frustrated by the prevalence of reward requests.
