Love It or List It’s Hilary Farr’s New Look Shocks Fans

Love It or List It alum Hilary Farr debuted a new look that shocked fans in the best way, ditching her signature brunette bob haircut.

The former cohost embraced her natural roots in a video shared via her Instagram on Thursday, April 10, while giving a glimpse of her kitchen in her Toronto home.

“This is really a big challenge! Ugh! I hate the process of packing chaos! Will it be worth it?” she captioned the clip, leading to many reactions from fans who loved her changed mane.

“Is that grey hair I see? I LOVE it!!” one social media user commented while another agreed, writing, “Love it!! Go Hilary!! And btw you look fantastic!!!” A third person added, “Adore your hair! We are some of your biggest fans.”

“Hilary I love your hair [clapping emoji] Your kitchen is nice too and you will make it beautiful but go girl on the gray,” a fourth replied. “The grey hair is quite attractive!” a fifth echoed.

Hilary noted in the video that her kitchen is 21 years old and still gets the job done, while spotlighting a number of improvements that needed to be made after plenty of “wear and tear.”

The beloved former TV star said her walls need painting, her light fixtures need upgrading and the trim needs to be fixed up. “It’s turning into really, an actual renovation,” she added, noting the potential was exciting to her.

“Do I renovate it to love it, or do I renovate it to list it?” she quipped.

Love It or List It will be back later this month with Page Turner taking the reins for Hilary and hosting the show alongside longtime star David Visentin.

Hilary, a home design expert, had been a regular fixture while cohosting with David, 59, since 2008, leaving some big shoes to fill. David and Hilary had grown close as he even supported her when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. She is now in remission.

Hilary announced her departure from the hit show after 19 seasons in December 2023. “I’ve given it so many years of my life,” she told People at the time. “It’s got me through hard times. It’s got the audiences through hard times. It has evolved into a mainstay of people’s lives and it’s been incredibly gratifying. But now it’s time for me to move on and meet new challenges.”

“I realized that everything that I am as a woman, which is [that I] look for challenges, look for inspiration, look for new ideas, be excited about all the possibilities that are out there, had really needed to bloom and to find their way,” she added. “I told everyone I’m done.”

“I thought that everyone had accepted it, but they hadn’t,” she shared. When it came time to film the show’s 20th season, “Everyone came back and said, ‘So, Love It or List It?’”

Hilary said she really had to consider and “rethink it again and really examine it, did I want to go back to or not? With all the love in the world, the answer was no. It’s just time.”
