Loren Taylor leads in special Oakland mayoral election based on early returns

(BCN) – Lauren Taylor was leading in early returns in the special elections to choose the next Oakland Mayor on Tuesday night, according to the Alamida province registrar. Taylor was ahead of nine other voting candidates with approximately 49 percent of the votes in the first round of voting on the option in rank around 8:15 pm

Former American deputy Barbara Lee was second with about 45 percent of the votes. All other candidates had less than 2 percent of the vote for each.

The election date was set after former mayor Shing Tho lost a summons elections in November.
