This week at Sphere, Sphere Studios, in collaboration with LEGO, Disney and Lucasfilm, debuted a first-of-its-kind LEGO “Star Wars”-themed live interactive game experience on the Exosphere, the world’s largest LED screen.
LEGO’s “Star Wars” Death Star is displayed across the 366-foot-tall outer shell.
The experience celebrates the announcement of LEGO SMART Play, new technology announced at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) by LEGO and Disney Chief Brand Officer Asad Ayaz and Lucasfilm Creative Director Dave Filoni.

LEGO SMART Play turns imagination into reality with LEGO SMART bricks – interactive pieces that respond to the creator’s actions with music, sound effects and lights!
The first sets to include SMART Bricks will be “Star Wars” themed and will be released on March 1st.
The Sphere Experience brings the interactive nature of LEGO SMART Play to life in the 580,00-square-foot Exosphere, where fans can jump into the cockpit of a LEGO “Star Wars” X-Wing and recreate the trench run scene from “Star Wars: A New Hope.”
Among the fans who felt the thrill of “blowing up” the Death Star was New York Giants quarterback Jackson Dart, who said: “Tonight, I felt like a kid again, stepping into a giant LEGO
SMART Play represents one of LEGO’s most important innovations since the LEGO minifigure was released in 1978.
