Austin – As the summer continues, Texas may think about going on a camping journey but they may be concerned if they haven’t gone before. Texas for parks and wildlife in Texas in the open air It aims to solve this issue.
KXAN, Avery Travis, feels to Alexa Brown from TPWD about what Texas can expect to learn from the program.
A copy of a question and a direct answer was edited for brevity and clarity.
Will Duberi: I know it’s a crowded weekend for all of you, in particular, but this appointed program is called Texas Outdoor Family. What is this?
Alexa Brown: So it is a program designed to reduce some barriers that prevent camping. The camping can be expensive, as you get all the equipment you need to spend a fun weekend time, then also some general fear of camping for the first time and exit in nature on your own.
Thus, our program reduces these barriers by providing some of these equipment for our participants, and then a guard remains on the site to spend the weekend to direct the participants through everything they need at the weekend.
Affiri Travis: You can let people race with one of these workshops. There is an important history of the corner or lower. So what should people know about registration and cost to start this program?
brown: People should know that our workshops are filled very quickly. It is very common, especially those we will start in September. So get links to register for these. When it comes to how to prepare workshops, it costs $ 75 for a set of six night workshops, then $ 95 for a night workshop.
Duberi: If someone registered in one of these workshops, all of the equipment will all provide. Talk about everything you attend, and then also the people who subscribed to it, they are responsible for some other things as well, so add this information as well.
brown: We offer a tent of six people. We also offer bed beds and sleeping platforms, then you get a gearbox containing a propane stove, utensils, and tools, then all the equipment you need for all our external activities.
So if we’ll hunt fish, we will offer hunting poles, all processing. If we do the rowing, as you know, we have kayak boats, survival jackets, and we offer all the basic equipment for the weekend. Participants need to bring their food and clothes and a good situation.
Travis: So what do you hear from the people who participated in this program, perhaps before they did the workshop and then after that? What are the things that you often hear from the participants?
brown: We hear people who say it was not scary or bad as they thought it would be. We find that, as you know, a great time, and they did not necessarily expect to awaken this time. And only people who want to return and the camp again.
DUpree: How does it seem to have anything like this? Because people there may be interested now to hear more on this topic. What can they do for registration?
brown: They can go to Texas family site is open air. We have workshops that will be held throughout the government gardens in central Texas, but we also have workshops to be held in the Dallas Fort Worth region and in Houston as well.
