Lawyer beaten, robbed by former client outside of Sonoma County Courthouse: PD

(Krona) – The Santa Rosa Police Administration said that a general defender was seriously injured after being attacked outside the Sonoma Provincial Court by a former agent on Thursday, who was then stolen.

SRPD said that the officers went to the financial area and administrative engines at 12:37 pm to investigate a report on physical attack.

“Upon his arrival, the officers decided that the victim – a public prosecutor in Sonoma Province – was attacked outside the Sonoma Provincial Court by a former agent,” PD said in a press statement. “The suspect, who was identified as Lyon Sims, 44, has hit the victim several times in the face, causing major injuries. Sims also made oral threats to more violence, kidnapping and stolen property from the victim.”

Santa Rosa police said that Sims quickly stopped by surveillance officers in Sonoma Province before he moved away from the scene. The victim was treated in a nearby hospital and released.

The police confirmed that the violent crimes investigation team took over the case and confirmed that SIMMS was arrested after the traffic stopped on Friday. Police said that an inspection note at the Sims house recovered the stolen property to the victim.

SIMMS was booked in Sonoma County prison where he faces many charges, including theft, kidnapping, criminal threats, and battery that causes serious injury.
