Lane closures on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge begin for week-long repairs

((CrohnSome corridors of the Richmond Bridge San Rafael will be closed starting on Monday night. The closure is dedicated to routine maintenance from June 9 to June 13.

The closing of the corridor at night from 8 pm until 5 am during that period will remain open. After that time frame for nine hours, all corridors for motorists will be reopened. Caltrans announced the following closure.

  • From Monday to Friday (from 8 pm to 5 am.))
    • East (lower deck): Corridors 2 and 3 closed
  • Just Wednesday (from 8 pm to 5 am)
    • West (upper deck): lane #2 closed

The closure of the corridor in Toll Square begins to the western end of the bridge on the side of Marin Province.

“Car drivers must expect a delay and they are advised to search for alternative roads or allow additional travel time,” said Caltrans.

This closure comes about a week after the bridge underwent an emergency repair to a hole. On June 2, the corridors were closed in both directions for hours during the evening of the week.

The closure of Monday night has no relationship to emergency repair last week, according to a Caltrans spokesman. This last repair was planned, which is routine scheduled maintenance.
