Los Angeles County Executive Visia Davenport was awarded $2 million in a mysterious settlement two months ago. Laist reports.
The “secret” deal was approved in July to “compensate her for the damages she sought — including alleged damage to reputation, embarrassment, and emotional distress,” according to records LAist obtained from the county,” the outlet reports.
Many details about Davenport’s specific allegations and the reasons behind keeping the settlement confidential have not been revealed, but the timing has raised eyebrows.
