L.A. City Hall locked down after man barricades himself

A man detained after a multiple confrontation hours on the steps of the Los Angeles City Hall, according to Lapd Media relationships.

The call came at around 4:08 pm, when the officers arrived to find a car on the steps of the city hall, near Broadway and south of First Street in the center of Los Angeles.

The police said that the man inside was refusing to go out and he was carrying something similar to the oxygen tank, along with two handwritten signs – one reading, “you do not want to hurt any object”, and the other saying: “I need help in us.”

People in the area, including those inside the city hall, were evacuated as a preventive measure. Officials told KTLA that the areas surrounding the city council had been banned while the situation remained active.

After about two hours, officials managed to cancel the manufacture of the situation. The man surrendered safely and was detained.

The mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass released An updated statement On x:

“The suspect outside the city hall is now being held and the LAPD team at the scene. Thank you to all the brave respondents who solved this situation safely with mercy and urgency.”
