the Los Angeles Greater Branch of the Council of American Islamic Relations Orange County, the Ministry of Orange County Sherif, Sherif Don Barnes, and individual OCSD deputies to remove the forced veil from two women while they were held in a protest at the University of California at Irvin last year.
However, the Sharif Administration says that joint information at a press conference announces that the deposit on Tuesday is “inaccurate”.
According to the complaint, the young woman was participating in a student protest on the campus in May 2024 when they were arrested. It is claimed that the deputies who threw them forced them to take off the veil, which are head covers worn by Muslim women.
Both prosecutors at the press conference spoke on Tuesday and were shown on both sides of the story.
“When I was asked to remove the veil, I was shocked,” said one of them, Salma Nazrdin. “My life was not asked to remove the veil from any government definition pictures … my identity, my passport, nothing of this.”
“I was thinking about myself, is this really happening? Is this allowed? Is this different because I am in prison?” I continued.
The second prosecutor, China Annie, said she had a similar horrific experience.
“Because of the actions of the deputy OCSD, my open hair was broadcast to the world to see,” said AINI. “In the reservation process, I had to be exposed from the male point of view and that my image be taken without my hijab against my will.”

“I want to make it clear that the veil is the final mark of my faith.” “It is my identity, protection and faith.”
In a statement of KTLA, the Orange Sharif Province Department said that “the joint events account at the press conference is inaccurate.”
“In particular, no women were asked to remove the veil in front of male employees or male members from the public,” says the statement partially. “Women were asked to remove their veil in particular during the prison facility to get a reservation image, and this happened with only deputies.”
According to Queen Mary University in LondonMuslim women wear the veil because it is specifically mentioned in the Qur’an, the most important religious text in Islam, that women who wear the headscarf will be closer to God.
