Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn Want Pal Kevin Costner ‘to Find Love’

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are big fans of Kevin Costner and they’re looking to set him up with one of their well-heeled friends in high society Aspen, Colorado, a mutual pal exclusively tells Closer.

“Kurt and Goldie have been loyal friends of Kevin’s for more than twenty years. It wasn’t always that way: in the ’90s, Kevin and Kurt were fierce competitors, but at some point, at the end of that decade, Kurt and Kevin got on the same page, started talking about working together, and the friendship has persisted to this day,” the source explains.

“Kurt and Goldie are absolutely Kevin loyalists and they respect the hell out of each other, even though Kurt and Kevin have continued to jostle for roles here and there,” the insider says, noting that Kevin was originally cast in 2012 movie Django Unchained as Ace Woody, but Kurt took over the role when the Waterworld star dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. The Deepwater Horizon star later left the project, and the role was eventually played by Walton Goggins.

“Nothing would make Kurt and Goldie happier than to set Kevin up with one of their Aspen friends, but the problem is that Kevin is a massive workaholic and perfectionist who kind of hates socializing and partying just for the sake of it,” the source shares about the Yellowstone alum.

“Kurt and Goldie are like everybody in Kevin’s life – they want him to find love and if they can help out in that department, they’re gonna try!” the insider adds.

In addition to being longtime friends with Kevin, 70, Kurt, 74, and Goldie, 79, are also neighbors in Aspen.

Goldie’s son, Oliver Hudson, shared a look at their place during a remote appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan in January 2022.

“It’s a bit of a time capsule. Those curtains that you see are like 30 years old, you know what I mean? Mom refuses to update, which kind of is great,” the actor revealed.

He added, “Mom built this house first and then my stepdad Kurt built the other house. So we lived here in 1985 for two years.”

Kevin has owned the massive Dunbar Ranch outside of downtown Aspen since 2000. The 160-acre estate consists of three separate homes, and The Bodyguard star wed ex-wife Christine Baumgartner on the property in 2004. The duo lived there on and off with their children, Cayden, 18, Hayes, 16, and Grace, 15.

“It’s just beautiful, with three lakes and a river running through it,” Kevin exclusively told Closer in November 2020 about his Aspen ranch. “My whole family spends some of our best times there.”

Christine, 51, and Kevin split in May 2023 when she filed for divorce. It was finalized in February 2024.

Kevin put the Dunbar Ranch up as a rental property in 2023, calling it “the ultimate luxury retreat only minutes from downtown Aspen, Colorado.” Its listing calls it “one of the most rare estate rental homes on the market today,” with “three exquisite residences offer stunning and comfortable spaces for you and your family to experience the true Colorado lifestyle, available individually or together.”

The Field of Dreams star was linked with singer Jewel after appearing friendly following his split from Christine, although the actor denied they were ever romantic.

“Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out ever,” Kevin told Howard Stern in June 2024. “She’s special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have. She’s special to me.”

“She’s beautiful and smart enough for all those things. It just has never happened for us,” he continued while explaining how they never moved beyond the friend zone. “She’s everything you might think, but it just hasn’t happened.”

Kevin added, “We don’t have a romance and we’ve not dated.”
