Kevin Federline on Britney Spears’ current state – Socialite Life

Kevin Federline has broken his silence about his former wife Britney Spears, expressing grave concerns about the pop icon’s current state in his forthcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew.

In excerpts published by The New York Times on Tuesday (October 14, 2025), the 47-year-old DJ and reality television personality reveals his mounting fears for Britney Spears, questioning whether the termination of her conservatorship in 2021 was the right decision. The revelations paint a troubling picture of an ex-husband who believes the situation has reached a critical point.

“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,” Kevin Federline writes in the memoir. “It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK.”

The former backup dancer, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, shares custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. Throughout the memoir, he emphasizes that his primary concern centers on the wellbeing of their children as they navigate their relationship with their mother.

Federline adds in the book, “From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”

Despite not having spoken with Spears in years, Kevin Federline maintains that he has never been against his ex-wife. Instead, he positions himself as someone who has spent two decades attempting to facilitate a meaningful relationship between the pop star and their children. The memoir also addresses the “Free Britney” movement, which successfully advocated for the end of her conservatorship.

“All those people who put so much effort into that should now put the same energy into the ‘Save Britney’ movement,” Federline writes. “Because this is no longer about freedom. It’s about survival.”

However, Britney Spears’ representative has dismissed the claims made in Kevin Federline’s book. In a statement shared with Billboard, the spokesperson said, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off [Britney]. Sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.”

The memoir, set to be released on October 21, represents Kevin Federline’s attempt to share his perspective on their tumultuous relationship and ongoing concerns. Meanwhile, Spears has been working to rebuild her relationship with her sons, recently reuniting with Jayden during the Christmas holiday after a two-year separation.
