The Gifford family keeps growing! Kathie Lee Gifford loves being a grandmother to her adorable grandkids, Frankie, Finn and Ford. The Today alum could not be happier with her growing family.
In May 2025, it was announced that Kathie’s son, Cody Gifford, and his wife, Erika Gifford, were expecting their third child together.
“Gifford, party of cinco,” Erika wrote on Instagram featuring clips of their family. “Our little blessing on the way was prayed for, dreamed of, and is already so deeply loved. 20 weeks in and we can’t wait to meet the newest member of our crew.”

Frank Michael ‘Frankie’ Gifford
Kathie’s son, Cody Gifford, and his wife, Erika Gifford, announced they were expecting their first child in December 2021.
“I am over a blue or pink moon!” the TV personality gushed to Closer in January 2022 of the exciting news. “I don’t care which.”
Kathie excitedly announced she was going to be a grandmother for the first time in December 2021. Cody and Erika surprised her and longtime friend Christine Gardner with a sweet gesture.
“Cody and Erika handed both of us something that was wrapped and asked that we please open at the same time. It was a two-sided frame and mine read, ‘Can’t wait to meet you Grandma’ on one side, and on the other was a photo of Cody and Erika holding their ultrasound,” the Emmy winner told People after hearing the news. “It took a moment to crystalize to me that this was their baby which meant that it was my baby too and I freaked and ran to hug Erika and so did Christine. To which Cody said, ‘What about me?’”
The couple’s first son, Frankie, was born on May 31, 2022, and soon made his Instagram debut on his mom’s account.
“At a whopping 8 pounds, 8 ounces, three weeks early, Frank Michael Gifford, ‘Frankie,’ has changed our lives forever,” Erika wrote on Instagram at the time. “We have not stopped bursting with so much love and gratitude for God’s most precious gift. Thank you so much to all of you for your prayers and sweet messages. He’s so SO cute and we can’t get enough of all of the snuggles from this lil’ guy. We are sincerely obsessed.”
Frankie was named after his late grandfather, NFL player Frank Gifford, who died on August 9, 2015, at age 84 of natural causes. Kathie was married to the sports commentator from 1986 up until his death. In addition to Cody, the pair also welcomed daughter Cassidy on August 2, 1993, and they all continue to honor Frank’s legacy.
The news personality could not have been happier to watch her son become a father. Her Instagram page is full of photos of her precious eldest grandson and their sweet moments together. Kathie celebrated Frankie’s 1st birthday on May 31, 2023, with an adorable tribute.
“Happy birthday to the sweetest little man in the world,” she wrote. “So grateful to God for the gift of Frankie.”
Finn Thomas Wierda
The Gifford crew grew once more with the birth of Finn in June 2023 to Kathie’s daughter, Cassidy Gifford, and her husband, Ben Wierda. Kathie shared the first photo of her second grandson on Instagram in July 2023.
“What a joy to spend sweet time with baby FINN,” the proud grandma captioned a photo holding the newborn. “I am the most blessed of women. It seems! Happy 4th of July everybody.”
Ford Matthew Gifford
Cody and Erika welcomed their second child in November 2023.
“Introducing the newest love of our lives, Ford Matthew Gifford,” the mom of two wrote on Instagram after giving birth. “Thanking God immensely for another perfect ‘gift.’ Welcome to the world, sweet sweet son.”
Grandkid No. 4
Kathie was elated when Cody and Erika publicly announced they were expecting their third child together in May 2025. She shared a sweet comment underneath Erika’s Instagram announcement.
“I am beyond filled with joy that this magnificent secret is finally out! So grateful to God for His faithfulness and loving kindness, and so thrilled that both of my children married, beautiful spouses, and are incredible loving, tender and tough parents, just like I had,” Kathie gushed.
