Juror dismissed in deadly Jefferson County rock throwing trial that began Monday

Denver (KDVR) – Public Prosecutors confirmed that a juror should be exempted from the trial of Joseph Quinig on Wednesday. Quinig was accused of throwing a rock of the landscape that came through the 20 -year -old Alexa Bartel and hit her on top, which eventually killed her.

The Director of the First Judicial Affairs confirmed with Fox31 on Wednesday that one of the jurors became emotional during the afternoon certificate, and both parties agreed to cannot.

The trial started on Monday. Koenig was one of the 18-year-old defendants, but his fellow defendants Nicholas karol-kWak and Zachary Kwak took over the guilt deals, and admitted guilty on less charges in exchange for approval of the certificate in the Koenig trial.

Prosecutors say that the three teenagers were driving on the night of April 19, 2023, and threw the large landscape rocks in passers -by. It seems that it is the question that threw the rock that killed Bartel, as many facts in the case are not in dispute.

Public prosecutors refer to Quinig and they said during the opening data that all the country that need to be proven is that Quinig was complicit.

“They put these rocks in the car. They throw them on the next drivers, and they chanted when they hit people,” said Catherine Decker, a provincial lawyer. “This rock was blown through its head like the cannon.”

Defense says that Kwak threw the rock.

Defense lawyer, Thomas Ward, said: “All the three boys in that truck, including Joe Quinj, are guilty of causing the death of Alexa Bartel.
