Josh Hart Reacts To New York Knicks Signing Jeremy Sochan

This week, the Knicks made an intriguing addition to their roster when they added former San Antonio Spurs guard Jeremy Sochan.

Via ESPN’s Shams Charania: “Free agent forward Jeremy Sochan plans to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears waivers, his agent Deirunas Visockas of Gersh Sports tells ESPN. Sochan had 10 interested suitors after being released from the Spurs on Wednesday and landed on the Knicks as his new team.”

Following the news, Knicks star Josh Hart sent out a sarcastic post that had over 33,000 likes and nearly five million impressions.

Hart wrote: “Bro this the worst year to be this dudes teammate 🤦🏽‍♂️”

One X user asked Grok to provide context for Hart’s post.

Grok responded: “Josh Hart seems to be jokingly referring to Jeremy Sochan, the former Spurs forward who signed with the Knicks as a free agent after the 2026 trade deadline. Sochan’s known for his energetic style and is an Arsenal fan—Hart’s a Chelsea supporter, so that might add to the “worst year” tease.”

Sochan was the ninth pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Baylor.

Over part of four seasons, the 22-year-old has averages of 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 28.7% from three-point range in 212 games.

As for Hart, he is averaging 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 49.7% from the field and 40.7% from three-point range in 43 games.

Sochan wrote (via X): “To the city of San Antonio… When I was drafted, I didn’t realize how quickly this would feel like home. I’ve moved around a lot throughout my life, and this is the longest I’ve been in the same place since I was 15 years old. Through the ups and downs, I learned a lot, kept growing, and always stayed true to myself. This community and the fans embraced me from day one! It’s bigger than basketball and I’m forever grateful. I’ll always have love for San Antonio! Everything happens for a reason & time will tell… 🤍”

The Knicks are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 35-20 record in 55 games.

They will play their next game on February 19 when they host the Detroit Pistons.
