The North Carolina Tar Heels football program has been in the spotlight this offseason after hiring the legendary Bill Belichick as their new head coach. Belichick won eight Super Bowls during his time as an NFL head coach and coordinator, and many are wondering how the team will fare in their week one matchup against TCU.
While most are focused on the on-field play, Dan Patrick is more concerned with what Belichick will be wearing on the sideline. Patrick joked that he believes Jordon Hudson, Belichick’s girlfriend, is going to make him ditch his patented cut-off hoodie for something new.

Hudson has been involved in just about everything Belichick has done since taking the North Carolina job. Speculation around her role ramped up after she was seen interrupting his CBS Sunday Morning interview, leading to questions about how involved she really is with the program.
There was even a rumor that Hudson had been banned from the football facility, which both the school and program later denied.
Regardless of her official role, Patrick said on “The Dan Patrick Show” that he believes Hudson will at least be responsible for one thing in Chapel Hill: picking out what Belichick wears for the Tar Heels’ season opener against TCU.
“His girlfriend is going to dress him up,” Patrick said. He later added, “I think that she’s going to try to spiff up his image a little bit.
Patrick’s take is a funny one, as Belichick has been notorious throughout his career for paying little attention to fashion. During his time as the New England Patriots head coach, he was often seen wearing a cut-off hoodie or sweatshirt, something Patrick believes Hudson won’t let slide.

Belichick likely isn’t worried about his fashion as he begins a new challenge. His job with the Tar Heels marks the first time in his 49-year coaching career that he’ll be working at the college level.

North Carolina opens the season against TCU on September 1, and the legendary head coach will look to start his Tar Heel career strong with a win over the Horned Frogs.
While fashion might not be top of mind for Belichick, it wouldn’t be surprising if Patrick ends up being right and the UNC head coach shows up in more respectable attire for the team’s first game, thanks to Hudson’s influence.
