JOHN LEGEND SPENDS FATHER/SON TIME WITH MILES AT DIABETES SUMMER CAMP

John Legend is making memories that matter most in the heart of Yosemite with his 7-year-old son, Miles. The duo spent some father/son time at the DYF Diabetes summer camp.

The Grammy-winning singer and proud dad recently took to Instagram to share photos from a special boys’ trip to a diabetes family camp organized by DYF, an experience that was equal parts bonding and eye-opening.

“I took Miles on a boys’ trip to a wonderful diabetes family camp @dyf_t1d,” Legend captioned the post. “Loved having one-on-one time with him at Yosemite. And it was so cool for him to be around a bunch of kids his age and counselors with diabetes. I learned a lot and I’m so grateful to everyone involved.”

In the carousel of sweet snapshots, John and Miles are all smiles, posing in front of towering redwoods, hiking, and hanging out at their cozy cabin. But beyond the Instagram-worthy views, the trip carried real emotional weight for the family.

Last year, Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, revealed that Miles had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after a hospital stay for an unrelated illness. She opened up in a candid post on Instagram, sharing how eagle-eyed fans spotted his diabetes monitor in a family photo.

“A lot of you noticed something a little special about a photo I posted a few days ago — Luna, Miles and I celebrating Simone and Team USA,” Teigen wrote at the time. “Miles had his arm up, and soooo many of you reached out to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform.”

She added, “After more testing, we learned he is in the ‘honeymoon period’ of a lifetime of T1. Last night we gave him his first shot of insulin and here we go! A different, new world for us and we are certainly learning so much on the fly.”

And learning, they are, together. Speaking to People Magazine last fall, Legend shared how Miles’ diagnosis has strengthened their bond as a family.

“This speaks to us feeling like a team,” the EGOT-winner commented. “And knowing we can do this together. It just makes us stronger.”

He also reflected on what it’s like adjusting to this new chapter. “As soon as I learned that he had this I knew it was going to be life-changing for him and for us, but I’m also like, ‘We can do this.’ We’ve got great advice and lots of people offering support to help us learn.”

With love, support, and one adorable Yosemite trip at a time, this truly adorable family is navigating this new normal with grace and making sure Miles never walks it alone.

In addition to Miles, Legend and Teigen also share three additional children: Luna, Esti, and Wren.
