Jilly Anais’ Mother Celebrates Daughter’s Engagement to Deshaun Watson

A few weeks after the engagement of Watson and Anais, Jilly’s mother, Theresa, took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s upcoming wedding.

Theresa expressed her excitement through the Instagram photo and caption: “My baby girl is joining the Mrs. Club soon, #bride2025,” posted Theresa.

Watson had a tough 2024 season that featured on-field struggles and a torn Achilles that put his NFL future up in the air, but the thrill of this engagement will surely lift his spirits. Jilly, on the other hand, has had an incredible year. The artist, chef, cookbook author, model, and influencer now has 4.9 million followers across five social media platforms.

Watson’s NFL Career Potentially at Stake

There’s no question the 2024 season didn’t go as planned for the former Houston Texans passer. The blockbuster trade that brought Watson to Cleveland hasn’t paid off. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam even called the move a “swing and a miss.”

Watson responded to the criticism by saying that, while others may doubt him, he still believes he can return to form. And that form was something special —he put together four stellar seasons in Houston, including a 4,800-yard campaign in 2020.

But right now, Watson isn’t close to that level. In 2024, he didn’t eclipse 200 passing yards in a single game. His 5:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio was underwhelming, and his highest QB rating of the year was just 88.2, which came against a struggling Bengals defense.

If that weren’t enough, Watson finished dead last in PFSN’s QB+ metric in 2024 with a 44.3 (F) grade. Analyst Ben Rolfe explained why:

“In 2024, Watson ranked in the bottom five for nearly all of the metrics we look at, including third-down conversion rate (19.7%; 39th), nYPA (4.4; 39th), passing from a clean pocket (-0.01 EPA/DB; 38th), and passing when under pressure (-0.55 EPA/DB; 37th). If not for the contract situation, we would likely not even be considering whether Watson might start in 2025 or beyond.”

Whatever 2025 holds for Watson on the field, life off the field seems to be looking up. A wedding date hasn’t been publicly announced, but based on Theresa’s “#bride2025” post, it could be coming soon.
